Burchell's Coucal Centropus burchellii (391)
IUCN Red list status: Least Concern
(Gewone Vleiloerie)
Experiences with species

These Coucals are often heard on wetter days, giving them their name of "Rain Bird", as they often call before a rain storm. In the northern parts of the region it can be confused with Senegal Coucal, however that lacks barring on the rump, and also has a brighter red eye.

Other names: White-browed Coucal (eBird still lumps the 2 species), White-eyebrowed Lark-heeled Cuckoo (in Layard's works)
