Experiences with species

This bird scuttles around in grassland, often located by its distinctive call. (More metallic than Common Quail's call) They are often flushed from roadsides when driving, more often than not you get a fleeting glimpse of them before they drop down into the grass and disappear. In wetter years, the irrupt in their thousands, as was the case in Kruger National Park in summer of 2020/2021.
